Hi folks!
After a very long five year hiatus, I've decided to
take on the challenge of actually maintaining this site.
Over that extensive period of time, many things have
happened -- I graduated college, am working full-time
now, and am working on my Master's in Secondary Education.
Perhaps the most interesting that was the opportunity
I had to study abroad in Kobe, Japan over a summer.
Regardless of how much time has passed, I still am a
huge fan of anime and continue to regard Rurouni Kenshin
as one of my favorite series. With that said, I would
like to touch up a few areas of the site. While I still
hold no intention of really upgrading any areas in regards
to content, there are some things on Hitokiris Anonymous
that are in dire need of an update, such as the DVD
information section. Media Blasters and ADV Films re-released
Kenshin so many times that it could drive someone out
of the loop a bit crazy with so many different options
to choose from.
One thing
that has caught my eye is that in Japan, the Ruroken
manga has been re-released in the form of a kanzenban.
If you're not sure just what a kanzenban is, take a
look at this.
Apparently Book-Offs and Kinokuniya chains in certain
U.S. states carry copies of these for a little more
than the set price in yen. I'm definitely going to be
picking these up on my next trip to Japan, but the thing
is, I really have no room for, well, anything! (Anime
DVDs and manga takes up a ton of space.) Still, it's
great to see that Watsuki-sensei's style has evolved
over the years. Some people don't think that he was
the one who actually drew the covers for the kanzenban,
but if you look at it closely, it sort of resembles
the style he used in Busou Renkin.
Feel free
to drop me an e-mail
if you'd like to. I'm open to any suggestions in regards
to updating this site.
