Aoshi... The Man So Scary as to Seem Almost Beautiful.
The Kenshin Gumi has arrived!
The door that blocks entrance into Kanryu's mansion's front is cut down by Kenshin. The Kenshin Gumi charges in and gives it to the men blocking their path to reach the actual mansion. As this happens, Megumi threatens to kill Kanryu and then herself with a knife, but her actions are prevented when Hannya swipes the knife from the hands of Megumi. Kanryu gives his drug dealer a good backhand, now promising to kill her, after he learns how to make the opium.

Kenshin does some remodeling to Kanryu's mansion.
Using Yahiko as a weapon, Sano clears the way of all the guards. Kanryu looks out of a window from his mansion in fear. Immediately, he tries to bribe Kenshin by offering him a job as one of his guards, but with a higher pay. Kenshin refuses the offer and begins to cut down lamp posts with his Sakabatou, directing them to collide into the mansion. Kanryu frantically orders that Hannya go and deal with the Battousai outside, but the masked man doesn't budge, mentioning that he only takes orders from his leader. Aoshi walks in at such an appropriate time and tells Hannya to wait for Kenshin at the entrance, inside the mansion. The reason is, Aoshi wishes to fight Kenshin to prove that he and the Oniwa Banshu are the strongest fighters. Kanryu reminds Aoshi that he is the Oniwa Banshu's boss and employer, the one who pays all the bills, but Aoshi and Hannya ignore him and walk off.

Who struck who?
Megumi is placed on the third floor in the observation tower by Aoshi. When she wakes up shortly after, Aoshi leaves behind Megumi's knife and leaves, allowing her to make up her mind whether she commits suicide or gets tortured to death by Kanryu. In Kanryu's mansion, Kenshin encounters Hannya. Hannya's kenpo looks to have an advantage over Kenshin, who doesn't really seem in the battling mood. Kenshin's sure that he had predicted and dodged all of Hannya's attacks, but for some reason, he is being hit. Using the Shin Ken guard stance, Kenshin waits for Hannya's attack. Hannya throws his fists forward, and this time, Kenshin is able to hit Hannya in his face, cracking his skull mask and revealing his severely burned face. The Oniwa Banshu member had used horizontal stripes on his arms to make it look like his fist was longer than it seemed. After a brief exchange of words, Kenshin and Hannya, now equipped with claws, bounce off the walls in the hallway and slash past each other. It is Hannya who takes the most damage, and Kenshin is only left with a small scratch.

Aoshi beats on Kenshin using his kenpo.
Kaoru and Yahiko deal with more goons that try to prevent Kenshin from going any further. Sano joins Kenshin as they open the door on the second floor to find Aoshi waiting for them. Without a doubt, Kenshin knows he's going to have to fight again. When Sano tries to involve himself with Aoshi, the Oniwa Banshu Leader knocks him unconscious in less than a minute. A kodachi is drawn, and by combining his sword skills with kenpo, Aoshi is able to easily damage Kenshin. Kaoru and Yahiko arrive in the room and tend to Sanosuke, who looks to be fine already, but fears that they may actually lose this time.
