Changing
Tears to Courage!
The Path Chosen by Kamiya Kaoru.
|
With
Kenshin gone, the Kamiya Dojo lies in dead silence.
Kaoru, Ayame, and Suzume are still in tears since
Kenshin's departure. As for Sano, he decides to take
his anger out at the Akabeko. Kenshin had broken Sano's
promise to not go anywhere without him. Once Sano
has finished getting out only some of his anger, he
leaves the Akabeko in slight destruction. Yahiko arrives
at the restaurant just as Sano leaves, looking for
the ex-ganster. Tae points the direction Sano walked
off to, but asks how Kaoru is doing. Yahiko answers
that Kaoru has become useless; all she's been doing
was lying in her bed and hasn't even eaten in two
days. Without anymore time to waste, Yahiko runs off,
asking Tae and Tsubame to visit Kaoru and cheer her
up.

Sano
hits hard to prove his worth.
|
Sano had went to see Katsu
for some cash to use on his way to Kyoto. Katsu willingly
gave it to and also threw in a few pineapple bombs,
just in case Sano needs them. Yahiko meets up with Sano
just as he is about to leave, but an unexpected guest
followed the boy. Saitou asks Sanosuke where he's planning
on going. Sano answers truthfully, Kyoto. It bothers
Saitou that Sano thinks he's going to Kyoto, so he speaks
the truth. The reason why Kenshin left by himself was
because he couldn't protect everyone close to him in
Tokyo. To Kenshin, Sano is a weakness. That statement
hits Sano hard. Before, Sano wanted to beat up Kenshin
for breaking their promise, but now, knowing that he's
one of Kenshin's weaknesses, that enrages him even more.
With rage, Sano
tries to head off to Kyoto, but Saitou stands in his
way. A fight begins when Sano begins punching Saitou.
Saitou fights back, at first, going for Sano's injury,
but then begins fighting at Sano's level. No matter
what Sano does, Saitou always manages to block and hit
back hard. At last, after the lengthy fist fight is
over, Saitou leaves, daring Sano to come to Kyoto if
he wants to die. Sano accepts the risk and departs,
reminding Yahiko that it's up to him to get Kaoru to
Kyoto. |

Megumi
tries to talk some sense into Kaoru
|
Tae
and Tsubame arrive at the Kamiya Dojo where they try
to offer her some food, but Kaoru doesn't have an
appetite. Megumi arrives a few minutes later and begins
to belittle Kaoru, calling her pathetic and so on.
Kaoru snaps back, saying Megumi has no idea how she
feels and that Kenshin left her as well. Megumi doesn't
want to be compared to Kaoru, a girl who just cries
and mopes. She has a remedy that Kenshin might need
in Kyoto and thought Kaoru would be the one to deliver
it, but Megumi decided that maybe Yahiko should do
it instead. When Kaoru asks why Megumi can't deliver
it herself, the foxy doctor answers, simply because
she has patients. Kenshin believed that she could
be a doctor and supported her. By caring for them,
Megumi is showing her feelings for Kenshin. Kaoru
still doesn't think Megumi understands her, how it's
like to be told good-bye then abandoned. It's time
Megumi leaves. She stands up and walks out, reminding
Kaoru that it's even worse to be just abandoned without
even a good-bye.

Yahiko is given the remedy
by Megumi as she leaves the dojo, and despite her attempt,
he is still determined to bring Kaoru to Kyoto. Yahiko
runs up to Kaoru's side and tells her that they're going
to Kyoto. Kenshin was the only one that said good-bye
to Kaoru, meaning she was the hardest to say good-bye
to. Yahiko sees it that Kaoru is the only one who can
get him to come back. There's no need to worry about
the dojo because Megumi will take care of it and they
need to deliver the remedy to Kenshin. Kaoru remains
quiet, so Yahiko asks her if she wants to see Kenshin
or not. It takes a few seconds, but Kaoru answers "Yes".
