After the
End of the Dynasty.
First Meeting of Kenshin and Shishio.
|
Soujirou
leads Kenshin and Saitou into the mansion, while not
too far behind is Misao and Eiji, who use sneaky tactics
to sneak past the guards, but not into the mansion
completely. Inside, Kenshin and Saitou come face-to-face
with Shishio Makoto and his woman, Yumi. It is the
first meeting of the two Battousais, but Kenshin wastes
no time asking Shishio, bandaged up well, why he's
taken Shingetsu. At first, Shishio jokes that it was
because of the hot springs, but when he sees Kenshin's
uptight sense of humor at the moment, he explains.
Ten years ago, the government tried to kill him by
burning him because he had known much of their dirty
secrets. The Meiji Government did not finish the job
on the Hitokiri Battousai replacement. Burning Shishio
just made him stronger. What Shishio Makoto wants
to do is take total control of the era and Japan.
Thus, he must progress slowly, claiming every section,
even a small village like Shingetsu, for himself.
Kenshin won't let Shishio do such a thing. With many
innocent lives on the line, Kenshin draws his Sakabatou
and prepares for combat. However, it is not Shishio
that'll get his hands dirty, but the large, muscle-built
man, Shishio's underling and the murder of Eiji's
family, Senkaku.

Senkaku busts out from
under the ground, making quite an entrance. Meanwhile,
outside, Misao and Eiji are finally noticed by the guards,
thanks to Misao's fear of caterpillars and spiders.
Even so, Misao beats them all up with her Kecho Geri.
Eiji threatens to kill one of the men with his brother's
katana and even tries to do so, yet, Misao prevents
him and instead, the two use the only conscious one
of the guards to lead them inside. |

Senkaku
on a path of destruction.
|
The
battle between Kenshin and Senkaku has begun. Senkaku,
armed with two grip knives, claims he has killed ninety-nine
people and will make Kenshin his hundredth. For the
entire battle, Kenshin basically dodges Senkaku's
attacks. Senkaku's speed is amazing, it matches that
of Kenshin's. However, after a long period of attacks
by Senkaku and evasions by Kenshin, the mighty underling
of Shishio's twists his left leg, ripping the muscle
by his kneecap, and falls. Saitou explains out loud
that even though Senkaku's speed had matched Kenshin's,
Kenshin kept increasing his speed. The weight of Senkaku
and the stress of the turns to follow Kenshin finally
ended up in Senkaku's leg giving up.

Senkaku
is knocked out by the Ryu Sho Sen.
|
Literally, Senkaku begs
that Kenshin spare him. Seeing his underling cower at
the feet of the Battousai sickens Shishio. Shishio threatens
Senkaku that if he doesn't get Kenshin to reveal at
least one of his moves, he will die at his hands. Senkaku
struggles to get up and does so with fierce determination.
Misao and Eiji arrive on the scene and knock out their
guide, but watch on from behind the door. As quickly
as Senkaku gets up, as quickly he goes back down. Kenshin
grips the Sakabatou with two hands and leaps up, hitting
Senkaku directly in the neck with a move he calls the
Ryu Sho Sen. Saitou shakes his head, not understanding
Himura's kindness. At last, Kenshin turns from Senkaku's
laid out body to the rather calm Shishio, demanding
that his "successor" draw his sword. |
