Himura
Kenshin
vs.
Shinomori Aoshi
|
Hurrying
to save Megumi, Kenshin and Sanosuke entered the
ballroom of Kanryu's mansion where they met with
Aoshi. Sano was eager to take out another Oniwa
Banshu member, since he eliminated Shikijo with
"ease", so he charged forward to attack
Aoshi. After missing two punches, however, Aoshi
found an opening and jammed his elbow into Sanosuke's
back, knocking him out instantly. Kaoru and Yahiko
arrived just in time to protect the unconscious
Sanosuke as Kenshin held his hand near his Sakabatou,
prepared for battle. Aoshi had drawn his kodachi.
Impatient to wait until Kenshin unsheathed his sword,
the Oniwa Banshu leader charged forward.
|
Kenshin
was forced to draw his sword to block Aoshi's attack.
Once Kenshin had blocked a few of his attacks, Aoshi
kicked him in the face, revealing he was the one who
taught Hannya kenpo. Following up, Aoshi repeatedly
punched Kenshin in his torso. The last punch hit Kenshin
so hard, it sent him flying back. Kenshin had managed
to regain his balance in midair. This time, he was
the one who was charging into attack, but yet, Aoshi
blocked his every attempt. Somehow, the punches began
to affect Kenshin, but still, the rurouni would not
quit. |
|
Aoshi
spoke his reasons on why he wanted to fight Kenshin.
Simply, he wanted to earn the title of the strongest
for his men. Kenshin thought that was a selfish
reason and thus, the fight continued. Swords clashed
and were punches missed. At last, Aoshi was able
to knock Kenshin down with his left fist, but Kenshin
had mentioned he has finally found a way to counter
Aoshi's kodachi. Instead of gripping his Sakabatou's
handle, Kenshin tightened his hand on his sword's
blade. When Aoshi attacked, Kenshin was able to
send the kodachi right into its wielder's throat.
Yet, Aoshi was not finished just yet. He faded
out, executing the Ryuusui no Ugoki.
|
|
Repeatedly,
Kenshin tried to strike Aoshi, but missed. When
Aoshi reappeared he executed his Kaiten Kenbu. Kenshin's
chest was leaking blood from the three slashes.
With that, Kenshin had fallen down. Yahiko finally
showed his bravery by challenging Aoshi to a fight,
but before it could commence, Kenshin got up. Yahiko's
enthused spirit had given Kenshin some hope for
the fight and it was revealed Kenshin's sheath had
absorbed most of the impact from the Kaiten Kenbu.
Again, Aoshi disappeared using his Ryuusui no Ugoki,
but when he reappeared, Kenshin tossed away his
Sakabatou to catch Aoshi's kodachi.
|
|
The
execution of the Kaiten Kenbu left Aoshi open for
a little while, allowing Kenshin to predict and
block. With the kodachi's blade clasped between
his hands, Kenshin shoved it back into Aoshi's throat.
Aoshi had spat up a lot of blood from the hit. Yet,
using whatever strength he had left, Aoshi was able
to hit Kenshin with a fierce uppercut. Both men
had fallen and neither had lost the battle. It wasn't
over; it was just interrupted by Kanryu and his
gatling gun.
