Himura Kenshin
vs.
Udou Jin'e

Kaoru was kidnapped by Jin'e. In this battle, Kenshin encountered Jin'e the Kurogasa under the moonlight with much anger; angry at himself for lettting Kaoru get kidnapped. What feared Kaoru when she saw Kenshin come to her rescue was that he looked different, almost like Kenshin was another person. Multiple times, Kenshin and Jin'e clashed swords. While running side-by-side, Jin'e tried to hit Kenshin with the Shin no Ippou, but that had no affect. Following, Jin'e tried to hit the rurouni with a series of sword attacks, yet, Kenshin blocked them all, predicting each and every move until Jin'e surprised him by stabbing a short sword into his left shoulder.

In a decision to provoke Kenshin into turning into the Battousai completely, Jin'e hit Kaoru with a powerful Shin no Ippou. As a result, if Kenshin doesn't kill Jin'e or Kaoru doesn't shake it off, Kaoru will die in a few minutes. Using his speed, Kenshin broke Jin'e's nose with his Sakabatou. Jin'e laughed an evil laugh, seeing that Kenshin is getting serious. Jin'e ran forward towards Kenshin after removing his top, but suddenly stopped. Kenshin had given off a powerful battle aura, so to match power with power, Jin'e hypnotized himself with his own Shin no Ippou, using his sword to reflect the technique. Showing no fear, Kenshin got into a Battou Jutsu stance.

Jin'e hesitated before charging forward in attack. Kenshin drew his Sakabatou with lightning speed and missed the Battou Jutsu, as Jin'e had dodged it, but what Jin'e had not expected was to be hit with Kenshin's scabbard. Kenshin had executed the Sou Ryu Sen, dislocating Jin'e's right arm. With Jin'e out of action, Kenshin turned around and raised his sword, prepared to execute the Kurogasa. Not wanting Kenshin to turn back into his former self, Kaoru somehow broke free from the Shin no Ippou. As Kenshin and Kaoru reunited, Jin'e found it only fitting to commit suicide. His dying words asked Kenshin how long he can remain a rurouni and keep the Hitokiri in him sealed.
