vs.
Zanza

 Zanza
was "hired" by Hiruma Gohei to fight Kenshin,
formerly the Hitokiri Battousai, just after he had
met the rurouni briefly at the Akabeko. Zanza accepted
the offer immediately, since he had longed for a
good opponent for what seemed like eternity. At
night, Kenshin had sensed a presence at the Kamiya
Dojo. When he went to investigate, he found Zanza
waiting at the entrance with his infamous Zanbatou
in hand.

 Watching
was Kaoru and Yahiko. Kaoru identified Zanza's sword
quickly and was amazed that a man like him could hold
and fight with the weapon so easily. Zanza charged
for Kenshin, demanding that he forget his non-killing
policy for now. With a mighty downward strike, Zanza
tried to crush Kenshin in one hit, but Himura leapt
away. Quickly following up his blow, Zanza swung upwards
at Kenshin, but missed due to the rurouni's speed.
When Kenshin was finally back on the ground, the fight
was paused. Zanza could not fight before girls, as
Ayame and Suzume walked out to see what was going
on, so he scheduled the fight for another time and
walked away. |
