Akamatsu is
a chain-wielding mercenary. He will kill for money, and
eventually became one of Shibumi's men. Working for a
corrupt politician doesn't mean he's a genius or anything.
Akamatsu is rather stupid. His common sense level is fairly
low, and he is vulunerable to be fooled.
Jealousy is
one thing that gets to Akamatsu. He feels as though he
should have been the top dog when Jin'e was out of the
picture. The Kurogasa had also been employed under Shibumi.
However, since Saitou came along, Shibumi wasted no time
in putting all of his trust into a former Shinsen Gumi
captain. That angered Akamatsu. A cloud of envy covered
his eyes, thus allowing him to be lured into Saitou's
plan.
Later, when
Akamatsu discovered that Saitou was in cahoots with Okubo,
the hired gun told his employer that he didn't want to
be involved with such a big name like Okubo. Akamatsu
had planned on running off to Shanghai where he'd be safer,
but before any one of his two feet stepped out of the
door, he was decapitated by the only Shinsen Gumi member
they call immortal.
