Raijuuta is
a man who cannot adapt to change. Since the Meiji Government
took over Japan, they had tried to decrease the need of
swordsmen. Because of that, Raijuuta had planned a revival
of swordsmen in the Izu region with his group known as
the Shinko Ryuu.
He needed
money, however. Raijuuta ventured to Izu for one purpose,
and that was to manipulate Tsukayama Yutarou, who was
desperately seeking a kenjutsu teacher at the time. A
plan was created for Raijuuta to gain the young boy's
trust. Once that was accomplished and Raijuuta became
Yutarou's sensei, the Shinko Ryuu gathered and set up
base at the Tsukyama residence.
Raijuuta was
close to living his dream until Kenshin prevented him
from going any further. The military had gotten involved
with the situation, and thus, many lives were lost amongst
them and the Shinko Ryuu. To stop the madness and unnecessary
violence, Kenshin defeated Raijuuta in combat. Assumingly,
Raijuuta was arrested and thrown in prison afterwards.
Although Raijuuta
never taught Yutarou a thing, he possess an ancient technique
known as the Izuna. He is a master of that skill, but
still, he is nothing but a joke when compared to the top
fighters of Rurouni Kenshin.
