Previous to
his blindness, Usui was a crazy hitokiri during the time
of the Bakumatsu. Usui would kill anyone and anything
that got in his way, that is, until a run-in with Shishio
permanently took away his vision. Since that day, Usui
had only gotten stronger despite being unable to see.
He developed a technique known as the Shin Gan, which
allowed him to hear better than the average person, almost
enabling him to see.
Although he
joined the Juppon Gatana, Usui swore to get his revenge
on Shishio. He warned Shishio himself that he would kill
him at any time, but the truth was that he would never
have such strength or skill to do so. It was just a mere
threat.
To describe
Usui's personality, he doesn't give a damn about anything.
Killing women and tasting their blood is considered enjoyable
to a sick and twisted individual like Usui. The only person
Usui has a little amount of respect for is Anji, who he
tried to convince teaming up with, but was declined, as
the two didn't stand on the same ground on a lot of issues.
Usui's death was given to him when facing against Saitou,
who striked the blind warrior with a Gatotsu at point
blank range.
