The fire bell is rung
as Kenshin, Kaoru, Yahiko, Tae, and Tsubame enter
town. The situation doesn't seem to be that much of
a problem for Kenshin and the others, but when the
police arrive in town, they are hit with disturbing
news. Police Chief Uramura rushes up to the group
and shouts that the Akabeko was hit by a cannon from
Mount Ueno. Quickly, Kenshin, Sanosuke, and Yahiko
take off to the scene.
While Kaoru, Tae, and
Tsubame head off to see the ruined Akabeko, Yahiko
is left trailing behind Kenshin and Sanosuke, who
are just too fast for him. At Mount Ueno, the silver-haired
figure and the one-armed man are gone. All that's
left is a destroyed sacred tree, which Kujiranami
smashed into when he fired his cannon, with deep footprints
embedded in the ground before it and a note reading
"Jinchuu". There's not enough evidence left
for the police, so they leave after a little while.
Kenshin, on the other hand, knows what Jinchuu means.
Jinchuu is defined as if the heavens do not punish
one, man will take it into his own hands. At long
last, Kenshin is going to be punished for the lives
he had taken when he was known as the Hitokiri Battousai.
At a Yokohama mansion
rests the silver-haired figure, Gein, and Kujiranami.
Gein had rented the place for their headquarters.
Kujiranami still seems a bit suspicious around the
silver-haired figure, as he still does not know his
name, but the silver-haired figure claims he'll explain
everything when everyone arrives. Shortly after his
words, two more enter the headquarters.
