All six are present:
Gein, Kujiranami Hyougo, Inui Banjin, Otowa Hyoko,
Yatsume Mumyoui, and the nameless silver-haired
figure. The silver-haired figure greets them all,
including Yatsume, who is hiding in the ceiling,
and announces that they shall be known as the Six
Comrades. After a disagreement on the name by everyone,
the silver-haired figure reminds them that their
alliance is only temporary. All six have banded
together to accomplish one goal - to cause Kenshin
pain and suffering. Once that has been accomplished,
the murderer of Himura Battousai is up in the air.
The police had regarded
the destruction of the Akabeko as a test or misfiring
by dissatisfied samurai. At the Kamiya Dojo, over
a cup of hot tea, Kenshin and Sanosuke discuss the
current situation. Kenshin will not be letting Kaoru
know anything, as he feels he doesn't want to worry
her after everything that happened in Kyoto. Sanosuke
has a map with him. He circles the Akabeko and,
with Kenshin, tries to figure where the next attack
may be, but they are interrupted when Kaoru enters
their room. Quickly, Kenshin and Sanosuke put away
the map and act as though they were innocently drinking
tea. Kaoru had just come by to inform Kenshin that
Tsubame will be staying over, since she's still
a bit shaken up from the Akabeko incident. Tae does
not need to be worried about, as her family has
already hired private guards.
Sanosuke leaves Kenshin
in solitude when he departs to get his hand checked
up by Megumi. Meanwhile, Kaoru gets ready for practice
with Yahiko. Just by the way Kenshin's acting lately,
she knows that something is bothering him. Kaoru
heads off into the dojo, and to her surprise, finds
Yahiko kneeling before her. With a very serious
look on his face, Yahiko demands that Kaoru teach
him the Kamiya Kasshin Ryuu succession technique.
