Against the Armstrong Cannon

Kenshin delivers the Kuzu Ryu Sen to Kujiranami in midair. The massive man armed with the Armstrong cannon immediately collapses to the ground after taking the nine hits. While still in the air, Kenshin glares at his main opponent, Enishi, who has a smirk upon his face.

Once Kenshin makes his landing upon the roof of the Kamiya Dojo's front gate's roof, he releases the built up ki inside of him. Kaoru looks in shock at the rurouni, wondering if he is changing into Battousai. There's no need to worry, however. Sanosuke explains to everyone who did not see Kenshin's battle with Shishio that the current Kenshin has surpassed the skill of Battousai.

Kujiranami slowly gets to his feet. Once back up completely, he targets Kenshin and prepares to fire. The others run into the dojo to take shelter, but Sanosuke pulls up something from underneath the porch. Removing the cloth from the item, Sanosuke reveals his old friend, the Zanbatou, held together by two large metal staples. Kujiranami fires his Armstrong cannon, but Sanosuke clobbers the cannonball back, breaking his giant sword in the process. Kujiranami swats the cannonball away from him, causing an explosion behind him. Before he is able to reload, Kenshin cuts the Armstrong cannon from Kujiranami's arm, and hits him on the side, underneath his arm. Seconds later, the one-armed man is left standing in place, clutching the point of pain.

The first battle has been won with ease, but there is a lot more needed to be fought until the true fight begins. Enishi will not come down until all of his comrades have fallen. To make things interesting, both Inui and Otowa leap down from their hot-air balloon and take to the field.
