Bargaining Point

Saitou goes over Chou's report then tosses it in the air, saying it's not enough. Chou grows furious with his superior, but into the room busts two vendors with a delivery of soba and sushi. Without a second glance, Chou identifies them as Yahiko and Misao in disguise. The kids don't know how the former Juppon Gatana member saw through their disguises, but then realize that their effort to sneak in was put to waste when Chief Uramura simply lets Aoshi and Megumi, who were with them, in.

Yahiko gets straight to the point and asks Saitou for Enishi's location. After Saitou refuses to even hint at the answer, Yahiko asks if he's willing to trade information. There's no need to, however, since Saitou already knows the truth about Kaoru's death. Documents taken from the basement in Enishi's former hideout by Chou containing great detail of Kaoru's physical appearance and information of one person being able to fit in the Iwanbou model's belly is enough evidence. Though, Saitou doesn't really care if Kaoru is dead or alive. What's more important to himself and the police is finding Enishi, rather than the verification of one girl's life. Yahiko bargains with Saitou again, this time asking to take full responsibility of searching for Kaoru; that way, Saitou can completely focus on locating Enishi. Saitou accepts the offer on the count of everyone stops bothering him. He's unsure of the exact location at the moment, but guesses that it may be at the Arakawa rivermouth. Without a minute to waste, Yahiko and Misao dart off.

Aoshi and Megumi leave the police station a couple of minutes after Yahiko and Misao, once the former Oniwa Banshu leader concludes a brief conversation with Saitou. However, Aoshi separates from Megumi to set a trap for his expected guest. Meanwhile, the ferry arrives at Enishi's hidden island. Gein prepares to make his departure, and so does Kaoru.
