The residents of
the Rakunimura tell Tsubame to go away, but she
happens to mumble Kenshin's name. When they hear
that, the men all begin to tell her the truth,
he won't budge or speak to anyone. Tsubame doesn't
believe the facts; she brushes past the men and
is eventually caught by a man with a bandaged
eye going by the name of Kuma. He sighs in disgust,
for the newbie has yet another visitor.
Kenshin's mind
is full of thought. He reflects on the day he
was saved on the trade route from bandits by Hiko.
That was the same day his name was given to him.
His days of training, request of becoming a hitokiri,
meeting with Tomoe, and setting off as a rurouni
are all included in these thoughts. People he
met along the way, Kaoru, Yahiko, Sanosuke, Jin'e,
Megumi, Aoshi, the Oniwa Banshu, Tsubame, Yutarou,
Raijuuta, Saitou, Misao, Shishio, Soujirou, Chou,
Anji, Houji, Yumi, the Juppon Gatana, Enishi and
his comrades, each have something they said that
sticks out. With so much running through his already
worn out mind, Kenshin doesn't seem to notice
that a teary-eyed Tsubame is standing right in
front of him.
