The Snow I Saw That Day Was So White

As the sun rises over Tokyo, Megumi rushes to answer a frantic knocking on the Oguni Clinic's door. To her surprise, she sees Sanosuke, sweaty and out of breath. Sanosuke raises his right hand and tells Megumi that he needs it fixed again. Despite being shouted at, Sanosuke is treated and told what had happened while he was gone on his so-called "business".

Yahiko wakes up from his long rest just in time to pig out with Sanosuke. Meanwhile, Kenshin remains asleep. In his dreams, he is back in his old spot at the Rakuninmura. Tomoe approaches him out of the blue and asks if he is still too tired to stand. Kenshin answers that he is just resting, which somehow lights a smile on Tomoe's face. It is learned that Tomoe will smile as long as the person keeping her memory inside of them smiles. Kenshin's vision of Tomoe asks him to watch over Enishi, and tells him something so shocking that it wakes him from his sleep - the person wanting to see his smile the most is waiting for him.

Yahiko, Sanosuke, Megumi, and Tsubame head over to Kenshin's room to see how he's doing. They are unsure of how to break the news to him that Kaoru is alive when he wakes up, but when the door is opened, they are both shocked and glad to see that their rurouni is back on his feet. Kenshin looks completely revitalized. He apologizes to everyone for making them worry and in his old heroic tone of voice, asks to be led to Kaoru.
