Who Hei Shin wants the Four
Stars to beat on is Kenshin and Kenshin only; he doesn't
want the rurouni's "subordinates" to do all of the work.
Kenshin, who's behind everyone, resting on the lifeboat,
raises his head and corrects Hei Shin, telling him that
they are not subordinates, but all trustworthy companions.
Kenshin doesn't want to face Hei Shin and his four bodyguards
anyway; it's suppose to be a one-on-one duel between himself
and Enishi. Saitou knows that trying to bargain with a businessman
like Hei Shin is useless, and even questions such a man's
presence on the battlefield. Hei Shin boasts that Enishi
abandoned the organization, therefore, he is rightfully
replacing him. Aoshi adds in his own two cents from experience,
warning the new boss that if the head of the organization
cannot see the strengths and weaknesses of his enemy, then
the association is doomed. A fire is ignited in Hei Shin.
Short of patience, he tells the Four Stars to attack.
The four bodyguards leap
high into the air, impressing everyone. Their caps fly off,
revealing markings on their heads. They are not the Four
Stars, but the Four Gods: Suzaku, Seiryu, Byakko, and Genbu.
Just by looking at their enemies on ground, the four are
able to determine their target. The Four Gods reveal their
arsenal then pick an enemy, setting up Saitou vs. Seiryu,
Suzaku vs. Aoshi, Sanosuke vs. Byakko, and Yahiko vs. Genbu.
